Launched: 27th August
In response to increasing concerns from local residents, we launched a campaign to address serious issues within the DVLA driving test booking system. Learners were unable to book test slots through the official system, while private agencies were securing these same slots and reselling them at heavily inflated prices. This created a two-tier system that put financial pressure on families and unfairly restricted access to essential driving tests.
We wrote to the Minister for the Future of Roads, Lilian Greenwood MP, urging immediate action to stop this unfair practice and restore a fair, accessible system for all.
This campaign was featured in The Oldham Reporter.
Update: 8th October
Following continued pressure and campaigning we received a response from the Minister for Roads on their commitment to tackle delays, stop automated bots from monopolising test slots and ensure a fairer booking system.
This is a positive step forward, but we will continue to monitor progress until all learners have equal access to driving tests without exploitation.
